Spinning Harrisville Yarns

Historic Harrisville and the Harrisville Public Library present this year's program on Harrisville history on Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00 p.m. This year we will look back to the 1970s and feature Total Environmental Action (TEA), the company that focused on solar awareness and solar building design. Some of the architects and engineers that worked with this company will be here to tell their stories. Please join us!

  1. I worked at TEA from November 1979 to May of 1981. It was an outstanding group of people at TEA and at Solar Age magazine. I still see some of them around Keene and sadly some are no longer with us. I do have one amusing yarn to relate. There was a cat who lived in the TEA building who presumably did the mousing to earn his keep. He also liked to take naps in the inbox on my desk, so we took to calling him "incat" because he took naps in the inbox. He may have also been a solar cat but most cats are if given the opportunity of a sunny day.
